College Centres in Melbourne FAQs
Some colleges are more focused than others. For example, a liberal arts college will take an eclectic approach to education by emphasizing the importance of studying various academic subjects in addition to specializing with regard for certain disciplines such as engineering or graphic design which can be studied at vocational and technical schools that offer professionals programs only where there's one specific specialization needed like visual arts if you want something less formalized but still rigorous then go ahead!
College can be terrifying, especially during freshman year. So here are ten things you’d wish you knew before college started.
- Make Sure Your Passion Is Your Passion
- Let Go of Toxic People
- Find a Student Organization to Be Part Of
- Rent Your Textbooks
- Work Out
- Avoid Procrastination
- Pyjamas Are In – Take Advantage of Being Super Comfy
- If You Aren’t an Early Bird, Don’t Sign Up for the Worm
- Have Fun, but Take College Seriously
Here are some of the key things you should know before taking your first college course:
- Arrive early.
- There might be homework due.
- Bring your laptop — if you can handle it.
- Keep up with the professor.
- Be prepared to actually work.
- Have an open mind about your classmates.
- Start taking notes immediately.
Technical and vocational colleges — also known as trade schools — are two-year colleges that provide specialised training for specific career fields. These institutions are known for their intensive programs, smaller campuses, and lower tuition rates.
Trade schools do not typically require general education courses and instead focus entirely on developing skills and knowledge needed for a particular trade. Though technical colleges and vocational colleges boast similar skills-focused curricula, technical college graduates often receive associate degrees, whereas vocational graduates primarily earn certificates.
Most trade schools are private for-profit institutions, but some technical schools maintain affiliations with community colleges, making them public schools.
Having a great college experience is about experiencing everything your campus has to offer. From clubs to events to new friends to incredible opportunities for academic exploration, a college campus can provide a wealth of new experiences.

CBD College delivers your course in an integrated and practical manner. Instead of delivering and assessing each course unit separately, we developed a streamlined delivery and fewer assessments that cover the required knowledge and skills across all units.
The advantage of this integrated approach is that all of the knowledge and skill requirements are linked together and relate to one another, making it easier for you to understand the information and complete the assessments. It also means that you will use your time more efficiently overall because you will not be assessed multiple times on material that appears in multiple units.
It is a fact that the majority of the people in the world do not have access to the internet. Our CBD Study Guides and electronic resources are designed to assist you with key learning points. You will also receive a free textbook that covers all of the course's key concepts. Other useful learning guides and support materials are also available to you for free in our student portal area.
You will be guided through our integrated assessments in class so that you leave with a thorough understanding of what is expected of you. There is even time set aside in class for you to begin the assessments, and you can ask the trainers questions directly throughout the week.
We also provide ongoing support after you have left the classroom. While you are completing your assessments, you can contact our assessors if you have any questions or need assistance.

Flinders International College (FIC) was founded in 2013 and is a CRICOS Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that is approved and regulated by the Australian Quality and Skills Authority (ASQA). International students who want to learn business skills and/or improve their English language skills can enrol in our Business and English Language (ELICOS) courses.
Our campuses are easily accessible from the Melbourne CBD and St Kilda Road. The Melbourne CBD campus is close to the State Library, Victoria Market, and a variety of restaurants, shops, and recreational opportunities. Albert Park, St Kilda Beach, cafes, and restaurants are all nearby the St Kilda Road campus.
We rely on our long-standing relationships with industry and other stakeholders to ensure that our courses are relevant to students' needs and consistently meet their expectations. The Framework is a quality management system that we have implemented and are continuing to improve.
We recognise the importance of adult learning principles in providing effective training. We believe, however, that all students should be encouraged to take responsibility for their learning and understand that, as learners, they play an active role in their training/learning and assessment process.
